This is the official primary record of documents issued by the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church held in Crete in 2016, a rare pan-Orthodox council, so it is the primary institutional text itself rather than a later account of what the council decided. As a primary source it is the strongest possible evidence for what the participating Orthodox churches formally agreed at that council, since it is the documents themselves.
