This is the Wikipedia community's synthesis, on its Galen article, of material drawn from two works within the Galenic corpus, On the Affected Parts and On My Own Opinions, summarising claims from the ancient physician's own writing about disease localisation and his later personal reflections on his medical positions. As a perpetually community edited reference page it is useful for uncontroversial orienting facts about Galen's biography and general medical framework. Its limit is structural: Wikipedia carries no fixed peer review and its content can change through open editing at any time, and a synthesis of two separate primary works risks flattening real differences between them, so a claim resting on the specific content or dating of either treatise needs a scholarly edition or translation of the primary text itself rather than this secondary summary.
