Buddhist Festivals

Buddhist calendar observances rooted in a particular national or cultural tradition, Losar, Obon, Pchum Ben and Songkran among them, as distinct from the pan-Buddhist observances, Vesak and the Uposatha days among them, filed under this atlas's cross-tradition high-holy-days and observances groupings. Buddhism has no single universal calendar, so which festivals count as central varies sharply by country and lineage.
