Religious roles, offices and titles within Judaism, spanning rabbinic ordination, semikhah, conferred by an existing rabbi upon a student, and the hereditary priestly and Levite lines descended from the biblical priesthood, whose ritual functions are now largely vestigial outside specific rites.
