Christian Science sites are held apart from the broader Christian grouping for the same reason Seventh-day Adventist and Latter-day Saint sites already are: a distinct nineteenth century founding, Mary Baker Eddy's 1879 organization of the Church of Christ, Scientist, a distinct governing structure in which every branch church worldwide is constitutionally subordinate to one Mother Church, and a practice, lay Reader-led services centered on Eddy's own Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures alongside the Bible, that does not reduce to generic Protestant Christianity. A site here is significant specifically to Christian Science history or governance rather than to Christianity considered without denomination.
