Juxtaposition Cross of Fates (30/29)

The Juxtaposition Cross of Fates carries the same pair as the Cross of Commitment with sun and earth exchanged, Gate 30 and Gate 29. Human Design reads Gate 30, from Hexagram 30, The Clinging, sitting in the Solar Plexus, as the longing and intensity of feeling that pulls a person into experience, now the more exposed gate; and Gate 29, from Hexagram 29, The Abysmal, sitting in the Sacral centre, as a yes that, once given, perseveres to the end whatever the cost. Juxtaposition Crosses form their own family, belonging only to the four line one profile, and Human Design reads them as the tightest, least steerable of the three kinds.

Its design half is Gate 34 and Gate 20, also exchanged, two of the four Integration gates, directly connected to one another. Gate 34 sits in the Sacral centre and is read as pure power, most potent simply being itself rather than aimed at anyone. Gate 20 sits in the Throat and is read as awareness and expression that occur now rather than in reflection.

Putting longing ahead of commitment changes what this cross puts forward first, while the same live connection of raw power and immediate awareness sits beneath it regardless of order. The same channel, unreversed, is also the Cross of Commitment, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Industry. Both hexagrams are old texts; pairing them this way as a life direction dates from the system's founding in 1987.

So the pulling longing and the perseverant yes the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the raw power and the immediate awareness beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form, the same two design gates the Juxtaposition Cross of Power carries as its own personality half. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Commitment, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Industry, both orderings. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
