Readings in Classical Chinese Philosophy

This is a classroom sourcebook: a collection of translated primary texts from the Confucian, Daoist, Mohist and other classical Chinese philosophical schools, each with a scholarly introduction situating it, rather than a single author's argument about Chinese philosophy. Its value here rests on giving direct access to the translated primary passages themselves, which a reader can check against the introduction's own framing of them. This record has not independently traced a documented history of disagreement with any specific translation choice in it. Use it for the content and framing of the specific primary texts it excerpts, not as a general history of Chinese religion.
